The visual arts program at Cooroy State School has an extensive and varied program. Students experience and explore 2 dimensional (drawing, painting, printmaking) and 3 dimensional (pottery, papier-mâché and construction) art projects. Each term the focus changes to directly correlate with classroom investigations. The visual arts program allows student to get in touch with their creative side and get their hands dirty.
Cooroy State School is very fortunate to have Rosie Lloyd-Giblett as our Visual & Media Arts teacher. She is a multi-disciplinary artist, her abstract paintings and drawings expressing a subtropical environment. She works primarily en plein air, using often calligraphic marks, depths of shasow and caried surfaces to evoke energy with subtle seasonal variations of her local landscape. She has been Artist-in-Residence in many local galleries and her exhibitions are widely reviewed. In October 2021, Rosie was the subject of "My Garden Path" (ABC Gardening Australia).
