Dance is a very popular component of the Arts curriculum at Cooroy State School. Recent television programs have promoted participation and encouraged students to view dance as a means of expression, communication and fun.
Classes in the junior school are engaged in the development of gross motor skills including locomotor and non-locomotor and are used to create action for movement phases. Directions, levels, shapes, pathways are taught to stimulate simple sequences. The students also participate in simple whole class dances which are performed on parades and showcase events.
End of Year Concert
Cooroy State School organises an End of Year concert which engages all classes in a singing and dancing extravaganzas. From here, students gain both performance and stage experience in a wide range of events available in the Cooroy community.
