Dance is a very popular component of the Arts curriculum at Cooroy State School.  Recent television programs have promoted participation and encouraged students to view dance as a means of expression, communication and fun.

Classes in the junior school are engaged in the development of gross motor skills including locomotor and non-locomotor and are used to create action for movement phases. Directions, levels, shapes, pathways are taught to stimulate simple sequences. The students also participate in simple whole class dances which are performed on parades and showcase events.
