Volunteers are an invaluable part of the Cooroy State School community, especially in our Tuckshop and Uniform Shop, run by the CSS P&C.
Our tuckshop also operates predominantly on a voluntary basis. The tuckshop opening hours are 8.15 am to 11.30 am daily. Just a few hours of voluntary help in the tuckshop once a month can assist greatly in the P&C continuing this very valuable service.
Our Religious Instruction program is also run by volunteers from the local community.
Parents are regular visitors to our classrooms and offer assistance in many and varied areas of daily school life. Daily reading, literacy and numeracy activities, science activities, and classroom art and craft are just some of the areas where volunteers can provide valuable support to the classroom teacher.
Parents of children attending Cooroy State School do not require a Blue Card to work as a volunteer at the school. However, all other family members do, including grandparents, older siblings, aunts and uncles. An application for a 'Working with Children' Blue Card can be obtained from the Department of Education website.
If you are interested in volunteering at Cooroy State School, please contact the office.
Your assistance and contribution will be greatly appreciated and valued.
