School Grounds & Classrooms

In May 2009, Cooroy State School celebrated 100 years of education. Many of our beautiful old buildings have not only withstood the test of time, but have great historical significance. The original school building is still in use and, although now a modern  Teacher Aide resource room on the inside, is externally still in its original form – a beautiful and historical reminder amidst a busy, modern school.

From 2009, Cooroy has had an ongoing commitment to facilities improvement, with the intention of ensuring all classrooms are vital & exciting learning environments. Many of our classrooms and buildings have undergone refurbishments through the National School Pride Funding program, State Schools of Tomorrow projects and the Federal Government’s Building the Education Revolution projects, with a total of $2.1 million spent on the school as part of these projects.

Our main hall has provided a modern, practical facility with state of the art technology in sound, lighting and audio-visual which supports many of the school’s daily activities including our weekly school parade, Music & Dance programs as well as our annual Year 6 Graduation ceremony and our ever popular End of Year concert. The hall also attracts a number of regular community groups who hire the hall for meetings and special events.

Further enquiries on hiring our hall facility can made through contacting our Business Services Manager, Vonnie Mackenzie, on 5472 2102.

Our school grounds have taken on their own identity and uniqueness due to the very creative topiary skills of one of our groundsmen, Bill Magin. The clean, neat and attractive grounds attract regular compliments from parents and visitors alike.
